The Book Fair is Coming!

Our next book fair opens on January 30th and runs until February 5th.  If you just can't wait that long, our virtual book fair starts on January 24th - just a few days away!  And if you purchase $25 worth of books, they will ship directly to your house for FREE!  Scholastic carries books for everyone, so go ahead and share the link with family and friends - they are sure to find something they love and the proceeds support our library!

Old School

We do a lot of technology in the library, but somedays, we go "old school."  Teachers asked for 4th grade students to have a dictionary lesson with print dictionaries.

Author Visits

We have three authors coming to visit soon.

First, we will have author/illustrator R. Gregory Christie come for kindergarten, first, second, and third grades on February 25th.  If you would like to order one (or more) of his books to be signed when he visits,  be sure to return the form by February 4th to the media center.

Forms were sent home on 1/22, but if you need one, just click here.

Then, on March 2nd (which is the first day for Read Across America) fourth and fifth graders will meet Kristin O'Donnell Tubb and Shelli Johannes-Wells. We are taking orders for their books as well and they are also due on the 4th of February.  If you need a form, just click here.

We are so excited, we can hardly wait!

Fifth Grade Project

Students are working hard to create augmented reality cells using CoSpaces.  Once they have created both a plant and an animal cell and labeled the parts, they will project it on a Merge Cube using an iPad, record it, then pull the video into iMovies and record a "voice over" telling about their creation.
Finally, they will upload to SeeSaw to share with their family.  SO MANY SKILLS!!!
