What a great celebration we had today for Dr. Seuss' Birthday! Over 30 special guests volunteered their time to come and read with a class this morning! Thank you so much to everyone for giving so generously of your time - we SO enjoyed having you visit! Please come back next year!!!

We are ready!

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day. We have invited lots of guests to come and share a favorite book or two with homeroom classes in the morning.

Dr. Seuss Week

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday - but one day is just not enough to celebrate, so we have a special activity planned for each day next week!

Evaluating Websites

It is so important to be able to tell the truth between fake news and real news. The Internet is wonderful, but it is also filled with false information. Fifth graders have had some lessons on how to decide if a website is reliable or not and are putting these skills to use today.

Stations

This week (and next) we will be using some stations in the Media Center.  This gives our students a chance to learn about some of our "techie" items in small groups.  Students are also able to explore any of these items when they come to the Maker Space.  We have Squishy Circuits, an OzoBot, Bee Bots (shared with other Media Centers in the district), Little Bits, Nabi Big Tabs, circuits, Geo-magnets, a MIP robot, and more!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Book Fair!  We had a great time and students, teachers, and parents all purchased LOTS of great books!  You still have until January 31st to shop online - so if we ran out of what you wanted or perhaps you just want s'more books - click this link to shop!  Books will ship free to Brookwood and should arrive by February 8th.
