Augmented Reality Creation
Fifth graders are learning to create their own augmented reality (AR) for use with our Merge Cubes. I will post more once they start their cell project, but today we are just doing some free play to learn the new Co-spaces program. They are loving it!

Hour of Code - Unplugged
One of my favorite activities is unplugged coding. I love this simple activity to help kids understand how packets are delivered on the Internet. We watch two short videos beforehand that help explain the concept of how Internet messages and websites are divided into packets, sent out over the network, and then reassembled on the user end - which is pretty amazing. Then we try to get our "packets" to the end user!

Oculus GO Virtual Reality
Third, fourth, and fifth graders had a chance to experience virtual reality when we borrowed extra headsets from the district technology department for a couple of weeks. Students must have a signed parent permission form as the Oculus Go user agreement requires parent permission for anyone under the age of 13. Students had several experiences to choose from, but the roller coasters were the most popular.
Students who have signed permission forms may also use the ONE set that our media center owns anytime MakerSpace is open.
