Last day before spring break and it was picture day. Should have taken a photo of each class as they looked so dapper today! But here is the one photo I managed to get! (We are so going to miss this story area next year!)

The Journey of Curious George
Fifth graders combined almanac and map skills to learn more about the true "Journey of Curious George" which really happened during World War II, which they are currently learning about in class.
We used printed almanacs and Google Maps to visit and learn about the places that are in the book.

Augmented Reality
We love using augmented and virtual reality in the media center. Unfortunately, we do not have many options due to the age of our devices. However, I was fortunate to find this cool app - Dino on my Desk - that will work with our old iPads! So, we read the book "Can I Have a Stegasaurus, Mom?" and then we used the Dino on my Desk App and the ChatterPix Pix to record videos to convince Mom or Dad to let us bring these cute AR dinos home!

Read Across America Week
We had a lot of fun this week as we celebrated Read Across America Week!
Each day we had a different Dr. Seuss Book to help us celebrate and we ended the week with a guest reader in EVERY classroom!
